Last week, I co-hosted an online event as part of my Post-doctoral Fellowship at the University of Aberdeen. The event was organised in partnership with members from Industrial Centre for Artificial Intelligence Research in Digital Diagnostics (iCAIRD) and was presented as an informal discussion about the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in routine breast cancer screening with opportunities to hear more about this potential use of new technology. Participants were also given the chance to share their thoughts or questions related to using AI for these procedures.
The event coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month to introduce the idea of AI in breast cancer screening to those who might not have considered it in the past. There were 15 participants and team members from both RAInS and iCAIRD at the event, and we had an enjoyable conversation about issues related to technology in healthcare.
We plan to run more events in the coming months, so if you missed out on last week’s event there will be future opportunities for you to engage me and the rest of the RAInS team. If you would like to stay informed about events and research related to the RAInS project, please subscribe to the project blog or follow us on Twitter (@RAInS_Project).
